Three 4-H clubs and three counties were represented yesterday at our Junior First Aid Clinic. Shady Acres' own Kristen Danielle, 2015 graduate of the Ohio State University School of Veterinary Medicine, gave the kids an evening to remember with both didactic and hands-on learning. Thank you, Dr. Kristen, and best wished as you begin the next chapter of your life: joining your first Veterinary practice!

Shady Acres would like to thank Dr. Jonathan Yardley and Dr. Michelle Bacha from the Ohio State University Veterinary Medical Center for taking the time to present an emergency care clinic for our staff and boarders. It was an incredible experience to further our education in emergency care and prevention. We were able to receive hands-on guidence in checking vital signs and wrapping wounds, and are especially thankful for the opportunity to ask so many questions. From colic and fractures to vaccines and laminitis, it is reassuring to feel confident in our own abilities and the exceptional care we are provided with from the OSU vets.

The Shady Acres Equestrian Team had a very successful first outing of the season at the Franklin County 4-H Horse Advisory Committee's Spring Clinic and Show! The weekend was not without complications, however we were able to really come together as a team and offer each other the support and encouragement needed for everyone to go home happy. I'm so proud of my team of students, parents and horses and I can hardly wait for our next event!
